Daniel L. Kane, CFA, is a portfolio manager on the Artisan Partners U.S. Value Team. In this role, he is a portfolio manager for the Artisan Value Equity and U.S. Mid-Cap Value Strategies, including Artisan Value and Mid Cap Value Funds. Prior to joining Artisan Partners in March 2008, Kane was a senior small-cap investment analyst at BB&T Asset Management, Inc. from August 2005 to March 2008. Kane began his investment career as a domestic equities securities analyst at the State of Wisconsin Investment Board in 1998. Kane holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
James C. Kieffer, CFA, is a managing director of Artisan Partners and a portfolio manager on the U.S. Value team. Prior to joining Artisan Partners in August 1997, Mr. Kieffer was a research analyst at the investment firm McColl Partners. Kieffer began his investment career at Wachovia Corporation working with Scott Satterwhite from 1989 through 1996, initially as a personal trust portfolio manager and later as a general equities and small-cap value research analyst in the institutional portfolio group. Kieffer holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Emory University.
Tom Reynolds is a Portfolio Manager responsible for co-managing the Perkins Small Cap Value strategy, a position he has held since April 2013. Prior to his portfolio manager responsibilities Mr. Reynolds was a research analyst covering the U.S. financials sector, a position he has held since joining Perkins in August 2009. Prior to joining Perkins, he served as a research analyst with Continental Advisors for a period of three years, also covering financial services. Prior to that, he worked at Lehman Brothers in the financial institutions investment banking group and fixed income sales and trading from 2004 to 2006 and 1999 to 2003, respectively. Mr. Reynolds received his bachelor of arts degree in anthropology from Dartmouth College and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, where he graduated with honors. He has 17 years of financial industry experience.
The investment objective of the Fund is to achieve long-term capital growth by investing mainly in shares of publicly listed companies (equities) and other types of investments that are referenced to such equities (known generally as equity-linked securities).
